Basics Class |
Beginning students are encouraged (but not required because we all live busy lives) to enroll in the Basics Class held from 11:00 AM to Noon on scheduled Saturdays. You must register for this class to participate but may watch if you are curious. This class is four Saturday classes for a cost of $35 that includes the 100+ page student manual and admission to Regular Classes after finishing the third Basic Class. Students in this class will learn:
- What Aikido means
- Basic Etiquette
- Rolling and warm-up Exercises
- Terminology
- Foundation techniques
Classes form if there is enough demand. The next Basics Class starts June 5th and continues every Saturday through June 26th. The next class starts July 10th (due to holiday). There will not be a Basics Class in August. The next class after July starts September 4th. There will not be a Basics Class in October.
All students are encouraged to attend as many Regular Classes as possible (including the Basics students). Most of Aikido must be learned on the mat and the more time spent practicing the better. These classes will cover:
- Continuous practice of techniques
