Visitors are welcome to come and watch any classes.  Students must be at least twelve years old and sign a waiver to participate.  Students under eighteen must have the signature a parent or legal guardian.  Students are not required to purchase a uniform nor weapons until their first test (approx. 3 months), but should wear loose clothing.

Students are encouraged to attend as many classes as possible.  Most of Aikido must be learned on the mat and the more practice time the better.  These classes will cover:

  • What Aikido means
  • Basic Etiquette
  • Rolling and warm-up Exercises
  • Terminology
  • Continuous practice of techniques
  • Advanced Etiquette
  • Weapons

Rates

Dues

  • Tuition is $45 per month, due on the first Tuesday of the month. 
    • -NEW- We offer family rates of $15 off for each additional family member.  Example: For a family of three, $45 for first family member and $30 for each additional member leads to a total of $105 per month.

-OR -

  • Irregular or transfer students may pay a drop-in fee of $5 or purchase Prepaid Punch Cards of any value.
  • Students may purchase a 100 page instruction manual for $5 if they choose.

Annual Membership

All students must pay yearly Aikido of Hawaii International (AHI) membership dues, $35 collected every November.  AHI is our parent organization and link to Japan.

Holidays and Weather Information

Omaha Parks and Recreation will close the Camelot Community Center facility for cleaning and repairs for one week each year (usually in the summer).  There will not be classes during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day nor during legal holidays or when the Camelot Community Center is closed.

In case of severe weather please call the Camelot Community Center @ 444-5972 to see if the facility will be open.  If the center is open we will hold class.
